Description:

Caye Caulker is governed by the Village Council (CCVC). The current seven members were elected for three-year terms on March 25, 2007. The major responsibility of the CCVC is to keep the village safe and clean for residents and visitors. The CCVC ensures the functioning of the Health Center, Police Station, Public Library, and Parks; collects the garbage; coordinates various activities, such as the licensing of vehicles, the Housing and Planning Committee, Lots Committee, Vehicular Traffic Control Committee, Police Citizens Committee, Sports Council, and Parks Committee; and organizes September Celebrations, Easter Events, Carnival and other Festivals. Contributions of funds or materials are always welcome. Especially needed are books for the Library, medical supplies for the Health Center, and computers for the school.
